Emergency Maintenance

CHRC Residents: Please DO NOT put "Emergency Work Orders" in Rent Café.

If you have an emergency work order, call the main office at 931.388.5203 to report emergency work orders during or after hours.
Note: After-hour emergency work order requests are handled by the CHRC answering service.  

What is an emergency?
Emergency items are those that, if not repaired promptly, could cause injury, loss of life, threaten health, or cause serious property damage. Emergency work must be completed during the current workday or within eight (8) hours.

Fires, Criminal activity, or medical emergencies (call 9-1-1) immediately.
Residents should report the following emergency work orders, if they occur:

  • Exposed electrical lines
  • Loss of power
  • Uncontrollable water leaks inside or outside the apartment
  • Damage to roof or ceilings
  • Smoke alarm malfunction
  • Broken windows or damaged door locks,
  • No heat (when outside temperature is less than 32 degrees F)
  • No air (when temperature is above 96 degrees F)
  • Appliance not working (range, refrigerator, or hot water heater)
  • CHRC resident locked out of the apartment (you will be charged $50.00 - after business hours or $25.00 during business hours)

If you request service and the maintenance technician determines your situation was not an emergency or is resident neglect, you will be charged the overtime rate.
