About Us
Organized in 1959, Columbia Housing & Redevelopment Corporation (CHRC) offers housing and redevelopment opportunities to serve residents of the City of Columbia in Tennessee. CHRC is governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners and provides housing and redevelopment assistance for low-income individuals, families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities.
CHRC operates 295 PBRA (Project-Based Rental Assistance) multifamily units in three fabulous communities: Creekside, Oakwood, and Northridge. After receiving a Multi-Phase Development Award from HUD (United States Department of Housing and Urban Development) in 2017, CHRC converted all Public Housing units into PBRA units under the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program.
Through strategic partnerships, CHRC is committed to providing valuable resident opportunities. CHRC provides additional resident services such as back-to-school and donation events, bingo games, computer classes, cooking lessons, holiday meals, and utility assistance.
CHRC is determined to make a difference while providing outstanding affordable housing and redevelopment opportunities. CHRC believes in 'A New Day and a New Way,' or that every day can bring a fresh start and a different way of living.
